Jean is a silk painter using steam fix dyes to produce sumptuous coloured silks, She uses the silk to sew purses and pouches, and they are also cut i to produce earrings, brooches, pendants cufflinks and other jewellery.

 

She paints ready rolled silk scarves in various weights and lengths. Jean has recently used painted silk to cover glass bowls and dishes, and is experimenting using it to decorate the splash back in a kitchen.

 

Jean uses free motion machine embroidery to produce pictures inspired by the local area. She also makes silk covered lampshades, which can be painted to match any home decor.

 

Jean is always looking for new ways to use her painted silk, and loves to hear from others on their ideas.
