Dick Gillon
Dick Gillon studied vocational ceramics at Chesterfield College of Art for three years in the 1970`s and subsequently became a salt glazer. He has lived remotely in Swaledale for over thirty years and has been involved in print making and working in wood. Much of his wood turning has been influenced by his pottery back ground and a love of functionality. Dick says wood turning, like salt glaze stoneware, often has elements of unpredictable beauty that are beyond the control of the maker.
